Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Park the vehicle on a flat surface, engage the parking brake, and disconnect the battery.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands for safety.
2. Remove the Transmission Cover
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet, torque wrench
  • Locate and remove the bolts securing the transmission cover.
  • Carefully lift the cover off and set it aside, ensuring no debris falls into the transmission.
3. Drain the CVT Fluid
  • Locate the CVT fluid drain plug at the bottom of the transmission.
  • Tools Required: Drain pan, socket set
  • Remove the drain plug and allow the fluid to completely drain into the pan.
  • Replace the drain plug and tighten it to the manufacturer's specified torque.
4. Remove the Old CVT Belt
  • Locate the tensioner and release the tension to allow access to the CVT belt.
  • Carefully slide the old CVT belt off the pulleys. Inspect the belt for wear and note the routing for the new belt.
5. Install the New CVT Belt
  • Parts Required: New CVT belt
  • Position the new CVT belt onto the driven and driving pulleys, ensuring it is properly seated.
  • Reapply tension using the tensioner to ensure the belt is tight.
6. Reassemble and Refill CVT Fluid
  • Reinstall the transmission cover, ensuring all bolts are tightened to the specified torque.
  • Refill the CVT with new fluid through the designated fill port according to the manufacturer’s specifications.
7. Test the Transmission
  • Reconnect the battery and start the vehicle.
  • Allow the engine to reach normal operating temperature.
  • Shift through all gears to ensure proper operation, and check for any unusual noises or slipping.
