Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver (if applicable)
  • Ensure you have the correct replacement battery (typically CR2032 for Toyota RAV4).
  • Work in a clean, well-lit area to avoid losing small components.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry apart the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Carefully twist the screwdriver to separate the halves without damaging the casing.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Locate the battery inside the key fob.
  • Note the orientation of the battery (positive and negative sides).
  • Gently lift the battery out using the screwdriver or your fingers.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Insert the new battery into the key fob, ensuring it matches the original orientation (positive side facing up).
  • Press down gently until it is securely seated.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press them together firmly until they snap back into place.
  • Ensure there is no gap between the two halves.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand within range of your vehicle and test the key fob functionality (lock/unlock doors, start engine).
  • If it does not work, double-check battery orientation and ensure the fob is securely closed.
