Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shock.
2. Clean Battery Terminals
  • Tools Required: Wire brush, battery terminal cleaner
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Remove the battery terminals (negative first).
    2. Use a wire brush to clean corrosion from the terminals and battery posts.
    3. Reattach terminals securely, starting with the positive terminal.
3. Replace Faulty Headlight Bulbs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, gloves
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Open the hood and locate the headlight assembly.
    2. Remove the headlight assembly by unscrewing the retaining screws.
    3. Disconnect the wiring harness from the bulb socket.
    4. Remove the old bulb by turning it counterclockwise and replace it with a new bulb.
    5. Reconnect the wiring harness and reassemble the headlight assembly.
4. Inspect/Replace the Alternator
  • Tools Required: Socket set, multimeter, torque wrench
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Locate the alternator in the engine bay.
    2. Visually inspect for any signs of wear or damage.
    3. Use a multimeter to measure the output voltage while the car is running.
    4. If the voltage is out of range, remove the alternator by disconnecting the wiring and unbolting it.
    5. Install a new alternator and reconnect all components securely.
5. Repair or Replace Wiring Harness
  • Tools Required: Wire strippers, soldering iron, heat shrink tubing
  • Sub-steps:
    1. Inspect the wiring harness for frayed or damaged wires.
    2. Cut out any damaged sections and strip the ends of the wires.
    3. Solder the wires back together and cover with heat shrink tubing.
    4. Secure the wiring harness back into place.
