1. Preparation

• Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the engine is off.
• Disconnect the battery to prevent any electrical issues during repair.

2. Recharge AC System

• Tools Required: AC manifold gauge set, refrigerant (R-134a or R-1234yf as applicable).
• Connect the low-pressure side of the manifold gauge set to the service port on the AC system.
• Check the pressure readings: if low, proceed to recharge.
• Slowly add refrigerant to the system while monitoring the pressure gauge until it reaches the specified level.
• Disconnect the manifold gauge set and reconnect the service port cap.

3. Replace AC Compressor (if faulty)

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, recovery machine (if recovering refrigerant), new AC compressor, O-rings, and refrigerant oil.
• Recover the refrigerant using a recovery machine following EPA regulations.
• Remove the serpentine belt from the AC compressor.
• Disconnect electrical connectors and refrigerant lines from the compressor.
• Remove mounting bolts and take out the old compressor.
• Install the new compressor, ensuring to apply new O-rings and refrigerant oil as per manufacturer specifications.
