Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure you are in a safe working environment.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery (negative terminal) if required during key fob inspection or replacement.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, new CR2032 battery (or as specified for the key fob).
  • Open the key fob by inserting the flathead screwdriver into the seam and gently prying it apart.
  • Remove the old battery and note the orientation.
  • Insert the new battery in the correct orientation.
  • Snap the key fob back together securely.
3. Inspect Key Fob for Damage
  • Examine the key fob for any signs of physical damage such as cracks or water ingress.
  • If damage is present, consider replacing the key fob.
4. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start) and back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Leave the key in the "ON" position on the fifth turn.
  • Within 20 seconds, press any button on the key fob to program it.
  • Turn the key back to "OFF" and remove it from the ignition.
  • Test the key fob functionality.
