Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area for working.
  • Disconnect the vehicle battery if needed for safety.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing at the seam.
  • Carefully separate the two halves without damaging the clips.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Remove the old battery from the key fob holder.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Reassemble the key fob by aligning the two halves and pressing them together until they click.
4. Reprogramming the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "ON" position (not starting the engine) and back to "OFF" five times within 10 seconds.
  • Leave the key in the "ON" position on the fifth cycle. The door locks should cycle to indicate programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob to program it. The door locks should cycle again.
  • Turn the ignition to "OFF" to exit programming mode.
