Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the replacement.
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set (with extensions)
    • Torque wrench
    • Spark plug socket
    • Ratchet
    • Dielectric grease
  • Parts Required:
    • New spark plugs (OEM recommended)
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Disconnect the battery before starting work.
    • Allow the engine to cool completely before proceeding.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • If applicable, remove the engine cover by unscrewing any bolts or clips holding it in place.
  • Set the cover aside in a safe location.
3. Disconnect Ignition Coils
  • Carefully disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Remove any retaining bolts securing the ignition coils using a socket or ratchet.
  • Gently pull the ignition coils out of their respective spark plug wells.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Using a spark plug socket, carefully unscrew each spark plug from the cylinder head.
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for wear or damage before disposal.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the threads of each new spark plug to ensure proper installation.
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder head, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer's specified torque (usually around 13-15 lb-ft).
  • Avoid over-tightening.
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Reinsert the ignition coils into the spark plug wells and secure them with the retaining bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil, ensuring they click into place.
7. Reinstall Engine Cover
  • If removed, place the engine cover back on the engine and secure it with any bolts or clips.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the vehicle's battery and ensure it's secure.
