Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:

    • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
    • Gloves (optional, for cleanliness)
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface, and the ignition is off.

2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the Glove Box

    • Empty the glove box of all contents.
    • Gently push in the sides of the glove box to release the stops and allow it to swing down fully.
  2. Remove the Glove Box Damper

    • Locate the damper arm on the right side of the glove box and gently detach it by pulling it off the pivot point.
  3. Unclip the Glove Box

    • Locate the clips on the sides of the glove box. Use a flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool to carefully pry these clips away to free the glove box from the dashboard.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the Cabin Air Filter Cover

    • Once the glove box is removed, locate the cabin air filter cover, which is usually a rectangular panel.
  2. Unclip the Filter Cover

    • Release the clips or tabs securing the cover in place and remove the cover.
  3. Take Out the Old Cabin Air Filter

    • Carefully pull the old cabin air filter out of its housing. Note the orientation of the filter for correct installation of the new one.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Insert the New Filter

    • Take the new cabin air filter and insert it into the housing in the same orientation as the old filter (usually indicated by arrows on the filter).
  2. Reattach the Cabin Air Filter Cover

    • Secure the cover back in place by pressing the clips or tabs until they snap in securely.
5. Reassemble the Glove Box
  1. Reattach the Glove Box

    • Align the glove box back into position and press it back into place until you hear the clips click.
  2. Reconnect the Damper

    • Reattach the glove box damper arm to its pivot point.
  3. Close the Glove Box

    • Ensure the glove box is closed and all contents are replaced.
