Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: small screwdriver (for fob opening), multimeter (to test battery), replacement battery (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-lit area and the engine is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:
    • Use a small screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:
    • Take note of the battery orientation and carefully remove the old battery.
  3. Install New Battery:
    • Insert a new battery (commonly CR2032) in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:
    • Snap the key fob casing back together firmly.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:
    • Sit in the driver's seat with all doors closed. Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  2. Cycle the Door Locks:
    • Press the unlock button on the driver's door three times while turning the key from "ON" to "OFF" in between each press.
  3. Add Key Fob:
    • Press any button on the key fob to program it. The vehicle should respond by locking and unlocking the doors.
  4. Exit Programming Mode:
    • Turn the ignition key to "OFF" and remove it. Test the key fob for functionality.
