Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools including a flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (typically CR2032), and a multimeter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked safely and the engine is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob along the seam.
    • Take care not to damage the casing.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Identify the battery type (usually CR2032).
    • Note the orientation of the battery (positive side facing up) for reinstallation.
    • Use the screwdriver to carefully remove the old battery.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Insert the new battery into the key fob, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
    • Press down securely to ensure proper contact.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the fob and press them together until they click into place.
    • Ensure the fob is securely closed and there are no gaps.
3. Reprogram Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn to the "On" position without starting the engine.
    • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove the key.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press and hold the "Lock" button on the key fob while simultaneously turning the ignition back to the "On" position.
    • Release the "Lock" button and turn the ignition back to "Off".
    • Repeat this process two more times to complete programming.
