Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: gloves, funnel, and coolant (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is completely cool.
2. Locate and Inspect the Coolant Reservoir
  • Open the hood and secure it with the prop rod.
  • Find the coolant reservoir, usually a translucent plastic tank on the passenger side of the engine bay.
  • Observe the coolant level through the reservoir. The level should be between the MIN and MAX markings.
3. Add Coolant If Necessary
  • If the coolant is below the MIN mark:
    • Remove the cap from the coolant reservoir carefully (if hot, use a cloth to protect hands).
    • Using a funnel, pour the recommended coolant type (typically a 50/50 mix of Toyota Super Long Life Coolant and distilled water) until it reaches the MAX line.
    • Replace the reservoir cap securely.
4. Inspect for Leaks
  • Check the hoses connected to the reservoir for signs of wear or leaks.
  • Inspect the area around the radiator and under the vehicle for any coolant puddles.
