Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, and a new key fob battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure you are in a well-lit area and have the vehicle parked securely.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Insert a flathead screwdriver into the seam of the key fob and gently pry it open.
    • Use caution to avoid damaging the casing.
  2. Remove the Old Battery:

    • Locate the battery inside the fob and note its orientation.
    • Carefully remove the old battery using the screwdriver or your fingers.
  3. Install the New Battery:

    • Place the new battery (CR2032) into the compartment, ensuring it is oriented the same way as the old one (positive side facing up).
    • Press down firmly to ensure proper contact.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the fob and press them together until they click into place.
    • Ensure there are no gaps between the halves.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Sit in the driver’s seat and close all doors.
    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position without starting the engine, then back to "Off" five times within 10 seconds.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Remove the key from the ignition.
    • Press the "Lock" button on the key fob for one second, then release it.
    • Repeat this step for any additional key fobs to be programmed.
  3. Exit Programming Mode:

    • Turn the ignition to the "On" position to exit programming mode.
