Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, and torque wrench.
  • Disconnect the vehicle’s battery to ensure safety while working on electrical components.
2. Remove the Fuel Sending Unit
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and running the engine until it stalls.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Remove the rear seat or access panel to reach the fuel tank assembly.
  • Unfasten the fuel tank retaining straps and lower the tank slightly to access the fuel sending unit.
  • Disconnect the wiring harness from the fuel sending unit and detach the fuel lines carefully.
  • Remove the retaining ring or screws holding the sending unit in place and carefully lift it out of the tank.
3. Inspect and Test the Sending Unit
  • Visually inspect the sending unit for signs of damage or corrosion.
  • Use a multimeter to measure the resistance of the float arm. It should vary as you move the float up and down.
