Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts needed for repair.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
  • Allow the engine to cool if it has been running.
2. Clean or Replace the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Socket set, throttle body cleaner, rags.
  • Remove the air intake duct connected to the throttle body.
  • Disconnect the throttle position sensor (TPS) connector.
  • Unbolt the throttle body from the intake manifold (use the appropriate socket size).
  • Clean the throttle body using throttle body cleaner and a rag.
  • If cleaning does not resolve the issue, replace the throttle body with a new unit.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and reconnect the TPS connector.
  • Reattach the air intake duct.
3. Inspect and Clean or Replace the IAC Valve
  • Tools Required: Socket set, IAC valve cleaner.
  • Locate the IAC valve on the intake manifold.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the IAC valve.
  • Remove the IAC valve by unbolting it from the manifold.
  • Clean the IAC valve with an appropriate cleaner or replace it if necessary.
  • Reinstall the IAC valve and reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Check and Clean the MAF Sensor
  • Tools Required: MAF sensor cleaner.
  • Locate the MAF sensor in the air intake system.
  • Disconnect the MAF sensor connector.
  • Remove the MAF sensor from the air intake duct.
  • Spray MAF sensor cleaner on the sensor and allow it to dry completely.
  • Reinstall the MAF sensor and reconnect the electrical connector.
