my Toyota Highlander Third Generation (2014-2019) stalls when I come to a stop, what's wrong

1. Preparation

• Gather necessary tools and parts.
• Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
• Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.

2. Clean the Throttle Body

• Tools Required: Socket set, throttle body cleaner, rags
• Remove the air intake duct from the throttle body.
• Spray throttle body cleaner onto a clean rag and wipe the throttle body interior, removing carbon buildup.
• Open the throttle plate manually to clean behind it; ensure it moves freely.
• Reattach the air intake duct securely.

3. Replace Spark Plugs (if worn)

• Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench
• Remove the ignition coil(s) by unscrewing the bolts and carefully pulling them out.
• Remove the old spark plugs using a spark plug socket and insert new spark plugs. Torque to manufacturer specifications (usually around 13 lb-ft).
• Reinstall the ignition coils and secure them with bolts.

4. Test Fuel Pressure

• Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge
• Locate the fuel rail and connect the fuel pressure gauge.
