Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Wrench set
    • Screwdrivers
    • Multimeter
    • Jack and jack stands
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Raise the vehicle using a jack and secure it on jack stands.
2. Remove the Engine Under Cover
  • Locate the engine under cover and remove any screws or clips securing it.
  • Gently lower the cover and set it aside to access the starter.
3. Remove the Starter
  • Locate the starter on the engine (usually near the transmission).
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the starter:
    • Remove the nut securing the battery cable to the starter terminal.
    • Disconnect the smaller wire from the solenoid.
  • Remove the mounting bolts securing the starter to the engine block (typically 2-3 bolts).
  • Carefully pull the starter out of its mounting location.
4. Install the New Starter
  • Position the new starter into place, aligning it with the mounting holes.
  • Secure the starter with the mounting bolts. Torque the bolts to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 10-15 ft-lbs).
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors:
    • Attach the smaller wire to the solenoid.
    • Secure the battery cable with the nut.
5. Reassemble
  • Reinstall the engine under cover and secure it with screws or clips.
  • Lower the vehicle from the jack stands.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
