Solution
1. Preparation
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent electrical shock.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel cap and using a fuel pressure relief tool.
2. Access the Fuel Pump
  • Remove the rear seat cushion by pulling upwards or using any required tools to detach it.
  • Locate the access panel for the fuel pump on the vehicle's floor.
  • Remove the screws or bolts securing the access panel and lift it off.
3. Remove the Fuel Pump
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pump by pressing the release tab.
  • Carefully detach the fuel lines from the pump. Use a line disconnect tool if necessary.
  • Unfasten the retaining ring or screws that secure the fuel pump assembly in place, then lift the pump assembly out of the tank.
4. Install the New Fuel Pump
  • Remove the old fuel pump from the assembly and replace it with the new fuel pump.
  • Ensure to replace any O-rings or seals that come with the new pump.
  • Reinstall the retaining ring or screws to secure the new pump in place.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines and electrical connectors, ensuring they are secure.
5. Reassemble and Test
  • Reattach the access panel and secure it with screws or bolts.
  • Reinstall the rear seat cushion.
  • Reconnect the negative battery cable.
  • Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position several times to prime the fuel system, then start the engine.
