Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, Phillips screwdriver (if necessary), and a new cabin air filter.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  • Step 1: Open the glove compartment.
  • Step 2: Remove any contents from the glove compartment to prevent damage.
  • Step 3: Locate the dampener arm on the right side of the glove compartment and gently detach it by pulling it away from the hinge.
  • Step 4: Squeeze the sides of the glove compartment inward to release the stops and allow it to drop down completely.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  • Step 1: Locate the cabin air filter cover, which is typically at the back of the glove compartment area.
  • Step 2: Unscrew or unclip the cover (if applicable) and pull it off to reveal the cabin air filter.
  • Step 3: Carefully slide the old cabin air filter out, noting the orientation of the filter for installation of the new one.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  • Step 1: Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented correctly (usually indicated by arrows on the filter).
  • Step 2: Insert the new cabin air filter into the housing, ensuring it fits snugly.
  • Step 3: Reattach the cabin air filter cover and secure it with screws or clips.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  • Step 1: Reposition the glove compartment back into place.
  • Step 2: Reattach the dampener arm to the glove compartment hinge.
  • Step 3: Close the glove compartment and replace any items removed earlier.
