Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: A small flathead screwdriver or a coin, and a new battery (CR2032).
  • Ensure you are working in a clean, well-lit area to avoid losing small components.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Locate the seam of the key fob where the two halves meet.
  • Use the flathead screwdriver or a coin to gently pry apart the two halves of the key fob. Start at one end and work your way around the fob until it separates.
3. Remove the Old Battery
  • Once the fob is open, identify the battery position.
  • Note the orientation of the battery (which side is positive and negative).
  • Carefully remove the old battery using the flathead screwdriver if necessary to avoid damage to the contacts.
4. Install the New Battery
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery into the compartment, ensuring that the positive (+) side faces the correct direction.
  • Press down gently to ensure a firm connection with the contacts.
5. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they snap back into place.
  • Double-check that there are no gaps between the two halves.
6. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand near the vehicle and press the buttons on the key fob to ensure proper functionality.
  • Confirm that the doors lock/unlock and that the engine start button works.
