Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location, parked with the engine off.
  • Wear safety gloves to protect your hands.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  • Tools Required: Small flathead screwdriver, replacement battery (CR2032)
  • Use the small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Remove the old battery and dispose of it properly.
  • Insert the new CR2032 battery, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing up.
  • Snap the key fob casing back together securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  • Tools Required: None
  • Sit inside the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it from "OFF" to "RUN" (do not start the engine) five times within 10 seconds. The door locks should cycle to indicate the vehicle is in programming mode.
  • Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds to program it. The locks should cycle again indicating the programming was successful.
  • Turn the ignition to "OFF" to exit programming mode.
