Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Tools Required: Flathead screwdriver, multimeter, new key fob battery (usually CR2032).
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the vehicle is off before starting any work.
2. Open the Key Fob
  • Use a flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  • Take care to avoid damaging the casing during the process.
3. Replace the Battery
  • Carefully remove the old battery from the key fob.
  • Note the orientation of the battery for correct installation of the new one.
  • Insert the new battery (CR2032) into the fob, ensuring the positive (+) side is facing the correct direction.
4. Reassemble the Key Fob
  • Align the two halves of the key fob casing.
  • Press them together until they click into place securely.
  • Ensure there are no gaps between the two halves.
5. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (but do not start the engine).
  • Turn the key back to "OFF" and remove it.
  • Press the "Lock" button on the key fob within 5 seconds after turning the ignition off to reprogram it.
  • Test the key fob to ensure it is functioning properly.
