Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: flathead screwdriver, small Phillips screwdriver, and a new key fob battery (typically CR2032).
  • Ensure the vehicle is in park and the ignition is off.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the key fob:

    • Use the flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
    • Take care not to damage the casing.
  2. Remove the old battery:

    • Note the orientation of the battery (positive side facing up).
    • Carefully remove the old battery with the screwdriver or your fingers.
  3. Insert the new battery:

    • Place the new battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    • Ensure it is seated properly in the battery compartment.
  4. Reassemble the key fob:

    • Align the two halves of the fob and press them together until they click into place.
    • Avoid forcing the casing; ensure all clips are engaged.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter programming mode:

    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start).
    • Turn it back to "OFF" and remove the key.
  2. Reinsert the key:

    • Turn the key to "ON" again and then back to "OFF" twice.
  3. Press the lock button:

    • Press and hold the lock button on the key fob for approximately 5 seconds.
    • Turn the ignition to "ON" and back to "OFF" to complete the reprogramming.
