Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver set
  • Remove the air intake duct from the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth and gently wipe the throttle body, including the throttle plate, ensuring no cleaner is left on the sensor.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct securely.
3. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket
  • Remove the ignition coil by unscrewing it from the cylinder head.
  • Carefully pull out the old spark plug using the spark plug socket.
  • Install the new spark plug by hand, then tighten it to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically 13-16 ft-lbs).
  • Reinstall the ignition coil.
4. Inspect and Clean Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None
  • Open the air filter housing and remove the air filter.
  • Inspect for dirt and debris; replace if necessary.
  • Ensure the housing is clean before reinstalling the new or cleaned air filter.
5. Check and Replace Fuel Filter (if applicable)
  • Tools Required: Wrenches, fuel line disconnect tool (if necessary)
  • Locate the fuel filter (if external) and relieve fuel pressure from the system.
  • Disconnect the fuel lines and remove the old fuel filter.
  • Install the new fuel filter in the correct orientation and reconnect the fuel lines.
