  • Tools Required:
    • Socket set
    • Torque wrench
    • Timing chain tool kit
    • Engine support bar (if necessary)
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Raise the vehicle and secure it on jack stands.
2. Remove Engine Components
  • 2.1. Remove the Engine Cover

    • Unscrew and remove the plastic engine cover.
  • 2.2. Drain Engine Oil

    • Place a drain pan under the oil pan, remove the drain plug, and let the oil drain completely.
  • 2.3. Remove the Serpentine Belt

    • Use a socket to release tension on the belt tensioner and remove the serpentine belt.
  • 2.4. Remove the Front Engine Mount

    • Remove bolts securing the front engine mount and lift the engine slightly using an engine support bar if needed.
3. Timing Chain Access
  • 3.1. Remove the Timing Cover

    • Remove the bolts securing the timing cover and gently pry it off. Take care not to damage the gasket.
  • 3.2. Align Timing Marks

    • Rotate the crankshaft using a socket on the crankshaft pulley until the timing marks on the crankshaft and camshaft gears are aligned.
4. Timing Chain Replacement
  • 4.1. Remove the Old Timing Chain

    • Carefully remove the tensioner and guide rails.
    • Detach the old timing chain from the camshaft and crankshaft gears.
  • 4.2. Install New Timing Chain
