Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to prevent burns.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover
  • Tools Required: Socket set
  • Unscrew and remove the engine cover by locating and removing the bolts.
  • Carefully lift the cover off and set it aside.
3. Access Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Ratchet and socket
  • Locate the ignition coils above the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the bolts securing the ignition coils using the ratchet and socket.
  • Gently pull out each ignition coil to expose the spark plugs.
4. Remove Old Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket and ratchet
  • Use the spark plug socket to carefully remove each spark plug by turning it counterclockwise.
  • Inspect the removed spark plugs for wear or damage.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Parts Required: New spark plugs (ensure they are the correct type as per manufacturer specifications)
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (optional).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder head, then use the spark plug socket to tighten them to the manufacturer’s specified torque (typically around 13 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils and Engine Cover
  • Reinsert each ignition coil into its respective position and secure them with their bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each ignition coil.
  • Place the engine cover back on and tighten the bolts to secure it.
7. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
