Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during the repair.
2. Replace Fuel Filter
  • Tools Required: Socket set, fuel line disconnect tool, safety glasses, gloves.
  • Locate the fuel filter in the fuel line.
  • Use the fuel line disconnect tool to detach the fuel lines from the filter.
  • Remove the fuel filter from its mounting bracket.
  • Install the new fuel filter in the same orientation as the old one.
  • Reconnect the fuel lines securely.
3. Replace Spark Plugs
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gap gauge.
  • Remove the engine cover if necessary to access the spark plugs.
  • Disconnect the ignition coils from the spark plugs.
  • Use a spark plug socket to carefully remove each spark plug.
  • Check the gap on the new spark plugs with the gap gauge and adjust as necessary.
  • Install the new spark plugs and torque them to the manufacturer’s specifications (usually around 13-16 lb-ft).
  • Reconnect the ignition coils.
4. Clean Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft cloth, screwdriver.
  • Remove the air intake duct to access the throttle body.
  • Spray throttle body cleaner onto a soft cloth and clean the inside of the throttle body.
  • Ensure that the throttle plate moves freely and is free of carbon buildup.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct.
5. Reconnect Battery
  • After completing all repairs, reconnect the battery.
  • Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes to ensure everything is functioning correctly.
