Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, jack and jack stands, screwdriver set, CVT belt replacement kit, fluid catch pan.
  • Elevate the vehicle using a jack and secure it with jack stands.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Drain CVT Fluid
  • Place a fluid catch pan under the transmission pan.
  • Remove the drain plug and allow the CVT fluid to completely drain out.
  • Replace the drain plug and torque it to the manufacturer's specification.
3. Remove Transmission Cover
  • Disconnect any electrical connectors attached to the transmission.
  • Remove the bolts securing the transmission cover using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift off the cover to expose the CVT belt and pulleys.
4. Remove Old CVT Belt
  • Note the routing of the CVT belt for proper installation of the new belt.
  • Release the tension on the belt by adjusting the tensioner as per the service manual instructions.
  • Remove the old CVT belt from the pulleys.
5. Install New CVT Belt
  • Position the new CVT belt according to the noted routing.
  • Ensure it is seated properly on both pulleys.
  • Reapply tension to the belt using the tensioner.
6. Reassemble and Fill CVT Fluid
  • Reinstall the transmission cover and torque bolts to specification.
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors that were removed.
  • Refill the transmission with new CVT fluid as specified in the owner’s manual.
7. Final Checks
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Start the engine and let it idle while checking for leaks.
  • Shift through the gears to ensure proper engagement.
