Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and new battery.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a secure location.
2. Replace the Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob:

    • Use a small flat-head screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob at the seam.
    • Be careful not to damage the casing.
  2. Remove Old Battery:

    • Take note of the battery orientation (positive/negative).
    • Use tweezers to carefully remove the old battery.
  3. Install New Battery:

    • Insert the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one.
    • Ensure it is seated properly.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob:

    • Align the two halves of the key fob and press them together until they click.
3. Program the Key Fob (if necessary)
  1. Enter Programming Mode:

    • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
    • Turn the key back to "OFF" and remove it. Repeat this step five times quickly until you hear the locks cycle.
  2. Program the Key Fob:

    • Press any button on the key fob within 30 seconds to program it to the vehicle.
    • Wait for the locks to cycle again, indicating successful programming.
4. Test the Key Fob
  • Stand approximately 10-15 feet away from the vehicle.
  • Press the lock and unlock buttons to confirm functionality.
  • Walk further away and test to ensure the range is adequate.
