Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and equipment.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
2. Using an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the vehicle's diagnostic port, typically located under the dashboard near the driver's side.
  2. Turn the ignition key to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  3. Power on the OBD-II scanner and select the option to read/clear codes.
  4. Follow the scanner prompts to clear the stored trouble codes, which will also reset the check engine light.
3. Disconnecting the Battery (Alternative Method)
  1. Locate the battery in the engine compartment.
  2. Using a socket set, disconnect the negative battery terminal (black cable) and leave it disconnected for about 5-10 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tightened securely.
  4. Start the vehicle to check if the check engine light has been reset.
