Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, spark plug socket, ratchet, extension bar, dielectric grease, and anti-seize compound.
  • Ensure the engine is cool to avoid burns.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate the engine cover and remove the fasteners using a socket or screwdriver.
  • Gently lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coils
  • Identify the ignition coils above each spark plug.
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from each ignition coil.
  • Remove the screws or bolts securing the ignition coils using the socket set.
  • Carefully pull out each ignition coil from the spark plug well.
4. Remove Spark Plugs
  • Use a spark plug socket and ratchet to loosen and remove the spark plugs by turning counterclockwise.
  • Inspect the old spark plugs for damage or wear before discarding.
5. Install New Spark Plugs
  • Apply a small amount of anti-seize compound to the threads of the new spark plugs (if recommended).
  • Hand-tighten the new spark plugs into the cylinder head, then use a torque wrench to tighten them to the manufacturer's specifications (typically 13-15 lb-ft).
6. Reinstall Ignition Coils
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the terminals of the new spark plugs.
  • Reinsert the ignition coils into their respective positions and secure them with screws or bolts.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to the ignition coils.
7. Replace Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Position the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the fasteners removed earlier.
8. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
