Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Tools Required: Socket set, ratchet, extension, torque wrench, multimeter, and dielectric grease.
  • Parts Required: New ignition coil(s), new spark plugs (if necessary).
  • Safety Warnings: Ensure the engine is cool before beginning work. Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  1. Use a socket set to remove any screws or bolts securing the engine cover.
  2. Carefully lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Access the Ignition Coil
  1. Locate the ignition coil(s) on the engine, typically situated on top of the engine near the spark plugs.
  2. If necessary, remove any components obstructing access to the ignition coil.
4. Remove the Ignition Coil
  1. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the tab and pulling it off gently.
  2. Remove the mounting bolts securing the ignition coil using a socket set.
  3. Carefully pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
5. Install the New Ignition Coil
  1. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to ensure a good seal.
  2. Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it seats properly.
  3. Reinstall the mounting bolts and tighten them to the manufacturer's specifications using a torque wrench.
  4. Reconnect the electrical connector to the new ignition coil.
6. Reassemble the Engine
  1. If removed, place the engine cover back onto the engine and secure it with the screws or bolts.
  2. Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
