Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, ratchet, multimeter, OBD-II scanner.
  • Disconnect the battery (negative terminal) to prevent electrical shock.
  • Allow the engine to cool completely before starting work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Locate and remove the bolts securing the engine cover using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift the engine cover off and set it aside.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  1. Locate the ignition coil on the engine. It is typically mounted on top of the engine cylinder head.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  3. Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket set.
  4. Gently pull the ignition coil straight out of the spark plug well. If it's stuck, slightly twist it while pulling.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  1. Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil to ensure a good seal.
  2. Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it seats properly.
  3. Reinstall the bolt(s) to secure the ignition coil and tighten to the manufacturer's torque specification.
  4. Reconnect the electrical connector until it clicks into place.
5. Reassemble Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the previously removed bolts.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tightened securely.
