Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Flathead screwdriver or trim removal tool
    • New cabin air filter
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off before starting.
2. Access the Cabin Air Filter
  1. Open the glove compartment and empty its contents.
  2. Locate the two stops on the sides of the glove compartment and gently squeeze them to release the stops. Allow the glove compartment to lower fully.
  3. Remove any screws or clips securing the cover of the cabin air filter (if applicable) using a screwdriver.
3. Remove the Old Cabin Air Filter
  1. Locate the cabin air filter housing, which will be visible once the cover is removed.
  2. Pull the old cabin air filter straight out of the housing. Note its orientation for proper installation of the new filter.
4. Install the New Cabin Air Filter
  1. Take the new cabin air filter and ensure it is oriented the same way as the old one (usually indicated by arrows on the filter).
  2. Slide the new filter into the housing until it is fully seated.
  3. Reinstall the cover over the cabin air filter housing and secure it with screws or clips if necessary.
5. Reassemble the Glove Compartment
  1. Raise the glove compartment back into position and push the stops back into place to secure it.
  2. Replace any items that were removed from the glove compartment.
