Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shock.
  • Allow the engine to cool down before starting the work.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Remove any screws or fasteners securing the engine cover.
  • Gently lift off the engine cover to expose the ignition coils.
3. Remove Ignition Coil
  • Locate the ignition coil(s) needing replacement.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the ignition coil by pressing the release tab and pulling it off.
  • Remove the bolt(s) securing the ignition coil using a socket set.
  • Gently pull the ignition coil out of the spark plug well.
4. Install New Ignition Coil
  • Apply a small amount of dielectric grease to the rubber boot of the new ignition coil.
  • Insert the new ignition coil into the spark plug well, ensuring it seats properly.
  • Secure the ignition coil with the bolt(s) and tighten to the manufacturer's specifications (typically around 7-9 ft-lbs).
  • Reconnect the electrical connector to the ignition coil until it clicks into place.
5. Reattach Engine Cover
  • Place the engine cover back on and secure it with the screws or fasteners removed earlier.
6. Reconnect Battery
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal and ensure it is tight.
