Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, socket set, torque wrench, multimeter, fuel pressure gauge, flathead screwdriver, needle-nose pliers, shop towels.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
  • Relieve fuel system pressure by removing the fuel pump fuse and starting the engine until it stalls.
2. Remove Engine Cover (if applicable)
  • Use a socket set to remove bolts securing the engine cover.
  • Carefully lift off the engine cover and set it aside.
3. Remove Fuel Rail
  • Disconnect the electrical connectors from the fuel injectors.
  • Use a socket set to remove the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
  • Gently lift the fuel rail with the injectors attached. Be cautious of any remaining fuel in the rail.
4. Inspect and Replace Injectors
  • Carefully remove the old fuel injectors from the fuel rail by pulling them straight out.
  • Inspect the O-rings on the new injectors; if they are dry, lubricate them lightly with engine oil.
  • Insert the new fuel injectors into the fuel rail, ensuring they seat properly.
5. Reinstall Fuel Rail
  • Position the fuel rail with the new injectors back onto the intake manifold.
  • Secure the fuel rail using the bolts and torque them to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reconnect the electrical connectors to each fuel injector.
6. Reconnect Battery and Test
  • Reinstall the engine cover (if removed) and secure it with bolts.
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Replace the fuel pump fuse and turn the ignition to the ON position without starting the engine to prime the fuel system. Check for leaks at the injectors.
