Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, lug wrench, brake cleaner, torque wrench, basic hand tool set.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and the parking brake is engaged.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical issues.
2. Lift Vehicle and Remove Wheel
  • Use a lug wrench to loosen the lug nuts slightly before lifting the vehicle.
  • Jack up the front of the vehicle and securely place jack stands.
  • Fully remove the lug nuts and take off the front left wheel.
3. Inspect and Remove Brake Components
  • Remove the caliper by unscrewing the caliper bolts using the appropriate socket.
  • Carefully slide the caliper off the brake rotor without disconnecting the brake line; support it with a bungee cord or rope.
  • Remove the brake pads from the caliper bracket and inspect them for uneven wear.
4. Replace or Repair Components
  • If the brake pads are worn unevenly, replace them with a new set appropriate for the model.
  • Check the caliper for proper movement; if it sticks, replace or rebuild the caliper.
  • Inspect the brake rotor; if it is warped, resurface or replace it as necessary.
  • Ensure all hardware (clips and shims) are in good condition; replace if worn.
5. Reassemble and Reinstall Wheel
  • Reinstall the brake pads and caliper in reverse order.
  • Torque the caliper bolts to the manufacturer's specifications.
  • Reattach the wheel and hand-tighten the lug nuts.
  • Lower the vehicle off the jack stands and torque the lug nuts to specifications.
