Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools and parts required for the repair.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is off.
  • Disconnect the battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Recharge Refrigerant
  • Tools Required: Manifold gauge set, refrigerant canister
  • Check the low-pressure side gauge reading; if low, proceed to recharge.
  • Connect the manifold gauge set to the A/C service ports (low and high side).
  • Open the refrigerant canister valve slowly and monitor the pressure until it reaches the manufacturer-recommended level.
  • Disconnect the manifold gauge set and secure the ports with caps.
3. Replace Cabin Air Filter
  • Tools Required: Screwdriver (if needed for cover removal)
  • Locate the cabin air filter access panel, usually behind the glove compartment.
  • Remove the panel and take out the old cabin air filter.
  • Install a new cabin air filter, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  • Reattach the access panel.
4. Check and Replace A/C Compressor (if necessary)
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, A/C compressor replacement kit
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the A/C compressor.
  • Remove the drive belt by releasing tension from the tensioner pulley.
  • Unbolt and remove the A/C compressor from the mounting bracket.
  • Install the new A/C compressor by reversing the removal steps.
  • Torque the mounting bolts to manufacturer specifications.
