Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the engine is cool.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal for safety.
2. Replace Thermostat
  • Tools Required: Socket set, torque wrench, gasket scraper, new thermostat, coolant
  • Remove the thermostat housing bolts using a socket set.
  • Carefully lift the thermostat housing to access the thermostat.
  • Remove the old thermostat and clean the mating surfaces.
  • Install the new thermostat, ensuring it is oriented correctly.
  • Reattach the thermostat housing and torque bolts to the manufacturer’s specifications.
3. Replace Temperature Sensor
  • Tools Required: Socket set, wire brush, new temperature sensor
  • Locate the temperature sensor on the engine block.
  • Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
  • Remove the sensor using a socket set.
  • Clean the threads of the sensor mounting hole with a wire brush.
  • Install the new temperature sensor, tightening it to the specified torque.
  • Reconnect the electrical connector.
4. Refill Coolant
  • Tools Required: Funnel
  • Open the radiator cap and pour the coolant mixture into the radiator.
  • Fill the coolant reservoir to the appropriate level.
  • Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, ensuring the thermostat opens.
  • Check for leaks and top off the coolant if necessary.
