Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety.
  • Gather safety glasses and gloves.
2. Clean or Replace Throttle Body
  • Tools Required: Throttle body cleaner, soft brush, socket set.
  • Remove the air intake duct by loosening the clamps and disconnecting any sensors.
  • Use the throttle body cleaner and soft brush to clean the throttle body. Ensure the plate moves freely.
  • Reinstall the air intake duct and reconnect any sensors.
3. Inspect and Replace Air Filter
  • Tools Required: None, unless there are clips or screws holding the air filter cover.
  • Open the air filter housing and remove the old air filter.
  • Inspect for dirt and debris; replace with a new air filter if necessary.
  • Secure the air filter housing back in place.
4. Test and Replace Fuel Pump (if needed)
  • Tools Required: Fuel pressure gauge, socket set, replacement fuel pump.
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail.
  • Turn the ignition on (do not start the engine) to check the fuel pressure against manufacturer specifications.
  • If the pressure is low, replace the fuel pump by removing the fuel tank or accessing it through the rear seat, depending on the design.
5. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs/Ignition Coils
  • Tools Required: Spark plug socket, torque wrench, replacement spark plugs and/or ignition coils.
  • Remove the engine cover if applicable and disconnect the ignition coil connectors.
  • Remove the ignition coils and spark plugs using the appropriate socket.
  • Inspect and replace spark plugs with the manufacturer-recommended type and gap.
  • Reinstall ignition coils and connectors, ensuring they are seated properly.
