Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools:
    • Flathead screwdriver (if needed).
    • Multimeter (to test battery).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked in a safe area, and all doors are closed.
2. Replace Key Fob Battery (if needed)
  • Open the key fob using a flathead screwdriver.
    • Sub-steps:
      • Insert the screwdriver in the seam of the fob and gently twist to separate the halves.
      • Remove the old battery (usually a CR2032) and replace it with a new one.
      • Ensure the battery is installed with the correct polarity (+ facing up).
  • Reassemble the key fob by snapping the halves back together.
3. Reprogram Key Fob
  • Enter the vehicle and close all doors.
  • Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "On" position (do not start the engine).
  • Turn the key back to the "Off" position and remove it.
  • Close and open the driver's door twice (the door must be closed and opened, not just opened and closed).
  • Insert the key into the ignition again and turn to "On" and back to "Off."
  • Close and open the driver's door twice again.
  • Insert the key again into the ignition and turn to "On."
  • Press any button on the key fob for a few seconds to complete the programming.
  • Turn the ignition to "Off" and remove the key.
4. Testing the Key Fob
  • Test the key fob buttons to ensure they are responsive.
  • Check that the vehicle locks/unlocks and starts properly.
