Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the negative battery terminal to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Inspect and Replace the Brake Pedal Switch
  1. Locate the brake pedal switch, usually found near the top of the brake pedal.
  2. Disconnect the wiring harness from the switch.
  3. Remove the switch from its mount (may require turning or unscrewing).
  4. Install the new brake pedal switch in reverse order of removal.
  5. Reconnect the wiring harness securely.
3. Check and Replace the Cruise Control Switch
  1. Remove the steering column cover using a screwdriver or socket set.
  2. Disconnect the cruise control switch from its connector.
  3. Remove the old switch from the steering wheel assembly.
  4. Install the new cruise control switch and reconnect it.
  5. Reattach the steering column cover.
4. Inspect and Replace the Throttle Position Sensor (if faulty)
  1. Locate the throttle position sensor on the throttle body.
  2. Disconnect the electrical connector from the sensor.
  3. Unscrew the sensor from the throttle body.
  4. Install the new throttle position sensor and secure it with screws.
  5. Reconnect the electrical connector.
5. Final Assembly
  • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
  • Clear any diagnostic trouble codes using the OBD-II scanner.
  • Test the cruise control system to ensure proper operation.
