Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: socket set, brake fluid, OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe location with the engine off.
  • Wear safety gloves and goggles for protection.
2. Check and Replenish Brake Fluid
  • Open the hood and locate the brake fluid reservoir.
  • Clean the reservoir cap before opening to prevent contamination.
  • If the fluid is low, top it off with the recommended brake fluid type (DOT 3 or DOT 4 as specified in the owner’s manual).
3. Inspect and Replace Brake Booster
  • Remove the Brake Booster:
    • Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
    • Remove the master cylinder by unbolting it from the brake booster.
    • Unplug any electrical connectors and vacuum lines attached to the brake booster.
  • Install New Brake Booster:
    • Position the new brake booster in place and reconnect the vacuum line.
    • Reattach the master cylinder, ensuring to torque bolts to manufacturer specifications.
    • Reconnect the negative battery terminal.
4. Bleed the Brake System
  • Locate the bleeder valves on each brake caliper.
  • Attach a clear plastic tubing to the bleeder valve and submerge the other end in a container of brake fluid.
  • Have an assistant press the brake pedal while you open the bleeder valve, allowing air and old fluid to escape. Close the valve before the pedal is released.
  • Repeat this process until no air bubbles are visible in the fluid, ensuring to check and top off fluid levels regularly.
