Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather all necessary tools and parts.
  • Disconnect the battery to ensure safety during repairs.
2. Replace the Air Filter
  • Locate the air filter housing and remove the clips or screws.
  • Remove the old air filter and inspect the housing for debris.
  • Install a new air filter, ensuring it is seated properly and reassemble the housing.
3. Fuel Pressure Check
  • Connect the fuel pressure gauge to the fuel rail's test port.
  • Start the engine and observe the pressure reading; it should match the specifications in the service manual.
  • If the pressure is low, replace the fuel pump or clogged fuel filter as necessary.
4. Inspect and Replace Spark Plugs
  • Remove the ignition coil(s) from the faulty cylinder(s) by unscrewing the retaining bolts.
  • Pull the ignition coil out and remove the old spark plug using a spark plug socket.
  • Check the gap on the new spark plug, adjust if necessary, and install it.
  • Reinstall the ignition coil and secure it.
5. Clean the Throttle Body
  • Remove the throttle body from the intake manifold by disconnecting any electrical connectors and removing the bolts.
  • Use throttle body cleaner and a soft brush to clean the internal surfaces.
  • Reinstall the throttle body and reconnect all components.
6. Replace Faulty Sensors
  • If diagnostic tests indicate issues with the MAF or TPS, follow the service manual to remove and replace the faulty sensor.
  • Reconnect any electrical connectors and ensure proper seating.
