Solution
1. Preparation
  1. Gather tools: multimeter, socket set, battery terminal cleaner, and a load tester.
  2. Ensure the vehicle is parked on a flat surface, and the engine is off.
  3. Wear safety goggles and gloves to protect from battery acid.
2. Clean Battery Terminals
  1. Disconnect the battery cables, starting with the negative terminal first (black).
  2. Use a battery terminal cleaner to remove any corrosion from the terminals and cable ends.
  3. Reconnect the battery terminals, ensuring they are tight.
3. Replace Battery (if necessary)
  1. If the battery voltage is below 12.4V or it fails the load test:
    • Use a socket set to remove the battery hold-down bracket.
    • Carefully lift out the old battery, noting its orientation.
    • Place the new battery in the same orientation.
    • Reinstall the hold-down bracket and tighten it securely.
  2. Connect the positive terminal first (red), followed by the negative terminal.
4. Inspect and Replace Alternator (if necessary)
  1. If the alternator is not charging properly, disconnect the battery again.
  2. Remove the serpentine belt by loosening the tensioner pulley.
  3. Disconnect the alternator electrical connector and mounting bolts.
  4. Install the new alternator by reversing the removal steps.
  5. Reconnect the battery and start the engine to check the charging voltage.
