Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools: small flathead screwdriver, multimeter, and OBD-II scanner.
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked and the engine is off.
  • Have a replacement key fob battery on hand (typically CR2032).
2. Replace Key Fob Battery
  1. Open the Key Fob: Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the key fob casing.
  2. Remove Old Battery: Take out the old battery, noting the orientation (positive side facing up).
  3. Insert New Battery: Place the new CR2032 battery in the same orientation as the old one.
  4. Reassemble the Key Fob: Snap the key fob casing back together until it clicks securely.
3. Reprogram the Key Fob
  1. Enter Programming Mode: Insert the key into the ignition and turn it to the "ON" position (do not start the engine).
  2. Press the Lock Button: On the key fob, press the "Lock" button once and then turn the key back to "OFF".
  3. Repeat: Turn the ignition to "ON" and press the "Lock" button again. Repeat this process several times until the doors lock and unlock automatically.
  4. Test the Fob: Use the fob to lock and unlock the doors to confirm successful programming.
4. Inspect Vehicle Battery
  1. Check Voltage: Use a multimeter to measure the voltage of the vehicle's battery. It should read between 12.4V and 12.7V.
  2. Charge or Replace Battery: If the voltage is below 12.4V, charge the battery or replace it if necessary.
