Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather tools: OBD-II scanner, socket set, and wire brush (if needed).
  • Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the ignition is off.
2. Use an OBD-II Scanner
  1. Locate the OBD-II port under the dashboard, near the steering column.
  2. Connect the OBD-II scanner to the port.
  3. Turn the ignition to the "ON" position without starting the engine.
  4. Follow the scanner's prompts to read and clear any stored error codes.
  5. Select the option to clear or reset the check engine light.
3. Disconnect the Battery (Alternative Method)
  1. Using a socket set, loosen the nut on the negative battery terminal.
  2. Remove the negative cable and ensure it does not touch the terminal for at least 15 minutes.
  3. Reconnect the negative cable and tighten the nut securely.
4. Verify the Reset
  1. Start the engine and let it idle for a few minutes.
  2. Check if the check engine light remains off after several minutes of driving.
