Solution

1. Preparation

• Gather tools and parts before starting the repair. Ensure the vehicle is parked on a level surface and the engine is cool.
• Tools Required: OBD-II scanner, multimeter, socket set, torque wrench, jack and jack stands, safety gloves, and goggles.
• Parts Required: New catalytic converter (if faulty), new O2 sensors (if necessary), exhaust gaskets.

2. Replace the Catalytic Converter

1. Lift the Vehicle:

   • Use a jack to raise the vehicle and secure it with jack stands.

2. Remove Heat Shields (if applicable):

   • Unbolt and remove any heat shields covering the catalytic converter.

3. Disconnect Exhaust:

   • Use a socket set to unbolt the exhaust pipe from the catalytic converter. Use penetrating oil on stubborn bolts.

4. Remove the Catalytic Converter:
