Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required: Jack, jack stands, socket set, torque wrench.
  • Ensure the vehicle is on a flat surface and secure it with wheel chocks.
  • Disconnect the battery if electrical systems will be accessed.
2. Replace Worn Shocks/Struts
  1. Lift the Vehicle: Use a jack to raise the vehicle and support it with jack stands.
  2. Remove Wheels: Take off the wheels to access the suspension components.
  3. Unbolt Shocks/Struts: Remove the bolts securing the shocks/struts to the lower control arm and the upper mount.
  4. Install New Shocks/Struts: Position the new unit in place, securing it with the bolts at the upper mount first, then the lower mount. Torque to manufacturer specifications.
  5. Reattach Wheels: Put the wheels back on and lower the vehicle to the ground.
3. Replace Worn Bushings
  1. Remove Affected Components: Depending on which bushings are worn (control arm, sway bar), remove the corresponding components.
  2. Press Out Old Bushings: Use a bushing press or hammer to remove the old bushings from the control arms or sway bar.
  3. Install New Bushings: Lubricate and press in the new bushings carefully to avoid damage.
  4. Reassemble Components: Reattach the control arms or sway bar, ensuring all bolts are torqued to specifications.
