Solution
1. Preparation
  • Tools Required:
    • Wrench or ratchet set
    • Brake fluid bleeder kit or clear tubing
    • Brake fluid (DOT 3 or DOT 4)
    • Funnel
    • Safety glasses
    • Gloves
  • Safety Warnings:
    • Always wear gloves and safety glasses to protect against fluid splashes.
    • Ensure the vehicle is on a level surface and securely supported.
2. Remove Old Brake Fluid
  1. Locate the brake fluid reservoir under the hood.
  2. Use a turkey baster or siphon to remove the old brake fluid from the reservoir.
  3. Dispose of the old brake fluid properly according to local regulations.
3. Refill with New Brake Fluid
  1. Using a funnel, fill the reservoir with new brake fluid up to the "MAX" line.
  2. Ensure the cap is securely closed after filling.
4. Bleed the Brakes
  1. Start at the wheel farthest from the master cylinder (right rear).
  2. Attach the clear tubing to the bleeder valve on the brake caliper and place the other end in a container.
  3. Have an assistant pump the brake pedal several times and then hold it down.
  4. Open the bleeder valve to allow old fluid and air to escape, then close the valve before your assistant releases the pedal.
  5. Repeat until the fluid runs clear and free of bubbles; check fluid levels in the reservoir frequently.
  6. Move to the left rear, right front, and finally left front, repeating the bleeding process for each wheel.
