Solution
1. Preparation
  • Gather necessary tools and parts.
  • Ensure the vehicle is in a safe, well-ventilated area.
  • Disconnect the vehicle from any charging source.
2. Battery Inspection
  • Step 1: Remove the frunk lid to access the 12V battery.
  • Step 2: Inspect the battery terminals.
    • Use a wire brush to clean any corrosion.
    • Tighten any loose connections using a socket set.
  • Step 3: Measure the battery voltage with a multimeter.
    • If the voltage is below 12.4V, the battery may be discharged.
3. Jump-starting the Vehicle
  • Step 1: Use jumper cables to connect the 12V battery to a functioning vehicle.
    • Connect the positive (red) cable to the positive terminal of the dead battery.
    • Attach the other end to the positive terminal of the working battery.
    • Connect the negative (black) cable to the negative terminal of the working battery.
    • Attach the other end to a metal ground on the Model Y.
  • Step 2: Attempt to start the Model Y after a few minutes of connection.
  • Step 3: If successful, allow the vehicle to charge for at least 30 minutes before disconnecting.
4. Battery Replacement (if necessary)
  • Step 1: If the 12V battery is confirmed faulty, remove it carefully.
    • Disconnect the negative terminal first, followed by the positive terminal.
    • Remove any securing brackets and lift out the battery.
  • Step 2: Install the new 12V battery.
    • Place it in the compartment and secure it with brackets.
    • Connect the positive terminal first, then the negative terminal.
  • Step 3: Reinstall the frunk lid.
